What is GFC Treatment?

Advanced Growth Factor Concentrate (GFC) treatment is an innovative and minimally invasive regenerative therapy that harnesses the healing power of a patient’s own blood to promote tissue repair and rejuvenation. This cutting-edge procedure is primarily used for hair restoration and skin rejuvenation, offering natural, effective results without the need for synthetic products or invasive surgeries.

The process begins with a simple blood draw, which is then processed in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the growth factors present in the blood. These growth factors—such as platelets, cytokines, and other proteins—play a vital role in cell regeneration, collagen production, and the healing of damaged tissues. When reintroduced into the skin or scalp, they stimulate the body’s natural healing mechanisms, promoting the regeneration of hair follicles and skin cells.

Why Choose GFC Treatment?

  • Natural results: GFC works by activating the body’s own growth factors, leading to a more natural-looking hair growth outcome.
  • Minimal pain and discomfort: Compared to other procedures, GFC injections are generally considered to be relatively painless.
  • No downtime: Most individuals can resume normal activities immediately after a GFC treatment session.
  • Improved hair quality: GFC can not only stimulate hair growth but also enhance the thickness and overall health of existing hair follicles.
  • Reduced hair fall: By promoting a healthier hair growth cycle, GFC can significantly decrease noticeable hair loss.

GFC Preparation How does it work?

  • Obtaining blood samples. Four GFC tubes are filled with 15ml to 16ml of the patient’s peripheral blood, equally distributed.
  • Platelets are activated and growth factors are released. A soft mixing step is performed by inverting the tube 6-10 times, followed by a 30-minute stand time. By releasing PDGF, VEGF, EGF, and IGF-1 from the platelets, the platelet-activating solution in the GFC treatment helps activate platelets.
  • Separating GFC from the rest of the mixture. After centrifugation at 3400 rpm for 10 minutes, all four tubes are counterbalanced. Furthermore, it allows pure GPs to be separated from RBCs, WBCs, and other blood cells.
  • GFC collection. GFC and Autologous growth factor concentrate are collected in the tubes. A collecting syringe is used to collect GFCs at the cap of the tube. A needle tip is inserted just under the cap of the tube. As a result, the GFC recovery rate is maximized.

Frequently Asked Question?

There is no major risk of GFC treatment. It is safe procedure.

No, there are no restrictions over activities after getting GFC therapy. You can shower, shampoo, and oil your hair like usual soon after the treatment. If you need to take any specific precautions, the doctor will guide you regarding the same.

Generally, anyone who is experiencing hair loss can get GFC treatment, given that the condition is in its early stages. If the hair loss is excessive, the doctor is likely to recommend other techniques for hair restoration.

Yes, GFC treatment can be successfully combined with hair transplant surgery. This non-invasive technique further improves the results of hair transplant and allows new hair follicles to grow quickly.

Generally, 3 to 4 sessions of growth factor concentrate therapy are required for good results. Many patients start to notice results even after the first sessions. But for long-lasting results and better hair growth, volume, and density, the doctor will advise at least 3-4 sessions.
